Chapter 2

Oh yeah, I’m supposed to keep posting things on here, right? I feel so Emo now that I’ve joined the blogging world...”I’m in a glass case of emotion!!!!!” (Will Ferrell - Anchorman movie quote...get used to them.)
Do we not get another 3-day weekend? Depressing. Especially after the spec-tastic weekend I had last weekend. My soulja fo life friend Laura (that’s equivalent to a BFF) came down for the Memorial Day holiday with her husband and 4 other crew members. I’m going to need them to come down every weekend I think. I love laughing for 3 days straight...all while stocking up on Vitamin D at the beach. They are the types you want to surround yourself with in life. You know, the ones who will laugh at you and with you, who will make you sangria, who will do the splits so the soccer ball stays up in the air and doesn’t hit the sand, who will go pee in the gulf with you and not care whether they are standing upstream or downstream...those types of people.
And so many hilarious quotes from the weekend. My favorite being from Laura during a game of Balderdash (board game where you make up definitions for a word and hope everyone thinks your definition is the correct one and picks yours...so much fun). So Laura’s “real” definition of the word FEAZE - “The original name of Febreaze!” (She spelt it that way on purpose for all you spelling geeks out there - Pa, I know you’re not in that category b/c you can’t spell anything! Ha!) Anyway, I was the person having to read out all the definitions from everyone. When I got to Laura’s, I couldn’t say ‘Febreaze’...every time I tried I burst into laughter...uncontrollable laughter. Obviously no one picked Laura’s definition as the real one. But so clever is my friend I just had to share!
***Sidenote: Yes, cool people over the age of 5 play board games. “Gotta keep my mind active...” (Granny quote - Ma’s side - said in the most Southern accent every single time she broke out the word search and pink highlighter.)
The second favorite quote was from the ice cream employee to Morgan (not my sis) after she asked for her 6th sample of ice cream...”Ma’am, I can’t give you any more samples after this one...” Haha! Cut off! And yes, I broke away from normal eating habits and had a double scoop of ice cream from Kilwin’s. IN a waffle cone. Not to mention the crabcakes from The Red Bar, ‘Grits A Ya Ya’ (shrimp & grits) from Great Southern, red snapper and sweet potato fries to die for from The SandBar. All that to say, this weekend will not compare...and I need to go run a marathon to burn off all those consumed calories. Instead though, I think I'll go buy a cooler full of Corona and gluten-free organic tortilla chips, sit on the beach, and pee in the Gulf for nostalgia’s sake...
Happy Friday.
